Timothy Gamble Obituary

Timothy Boyd Gamble passed away peacefully on November 15, 2023. His last days were spent at UPMC Osteopathic Hospital Harrisburg, PA surrounded by his beloved family and friends.

Born on October 8, 1949, to Boyd and Marie Gamble, Tim grew up Robinson, PA and graduated from United High School. Tim proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. During his Military career, Tim was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, and the Navy Achievement Medal. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in Business. During Tim’s time in South Carolina, he also served as a Deacon and Minister of Music at South Aiken Baptist Church in Aiken, South Carolina. He later moved to Harrisburg/Enola PA where he then retired and spent his days volunteering for the DAV, participating in the choir at Mount Gretna and Cornwall United Methodist, and spending time with his grandchildren and close friends.

The Navy and his career took him all over the world. He loved seeing new places and traveling. He enjoyed golf, the Gamecocks, and the Buffalo Bills. He never met a stranger and loved telling stories of his old Navy days. To know him was to love him.

Tim is survived by his three loving daughters: Dawn Gamble Watts (Chuck) Monticello, GA, Lisa Gamble Hagelston, Enola, PA, Melissa Gamble (Troy) Beech Island, SC. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren and their partners: Davis C. Watts (Emily) Johns Creek, GA, Madison Watts Plott (Christian) Williamson, GA, Alec Hagelston (Melissa) Camp Hill, PA, Zack Hagelston (Glenda) Enola, PA, Sarah Hagelston (Fernando) Enola, Akil Eubanks, and Lincoln Eubanks Beech Island, SC. He is also survived by his great grandchildren Henry Louis Boyd Hagelston Violet Pentz, Lucas Pentz, Jaxson DeYoung, Olivia DeYoung, Maxmilian Lynn (Zack, Glenda), Joseph Mehaffie (Alec, Melissa) and another great grandchild on the way in February 2024 (Madison, Christian). Tim is also survived by his former wife, Wanda Jean Gamble, Beech Island, SC. He is predeceased by his wife Sonya Gamble.

A celebration of life memorial will be held at a later day and time. He will be interred at Fort Indiantown Gap Cemetery.
