Scot Bower Obituary

On September 23, 2023, Jesus welcomed Scot Arthur Bower into heaven with open arms.

Born in Williamsport, PA, October 26, 1957, Scot was the son of Arthur Charles Bower and Dorothy Jean (Schorr) Bower.

A graduate of Montoursville Area High School, Scot attended Bloomsburg State College and received an Associate’s degree from Williamsport Area Community College. Upon graduation, Scot was employed by various businesses in and around Williamsport, including Perkins Restaurant, Elby’s Restaurant, and Wundies Industries, before embarking on his 36 year career as a clerk with the United States Postal Service in Williamsport, retiring in December 2021. Scot married Cindy Archambeau in 1978 and together they welcomed two sons into the world, Jordan Michael Bower, and Nathan Arthur Bower, before divorcing in 1991. Scot married Desireé Welch in 1991 and together they welcomed two sons into the world, Cayce Alaric Bower, and Austen Jordan Bower.

Surviving are: his wife of nearly 32 years, Desireé (Welch) Bower, of Montoursville; ex-wife and family friend, Cindy (Archambeau) Bittinger (David); sons, Nathan Bower, Cayce Bower (Kayla), and Austen Bower (Dana); former daughter-in-love, Angell (Shultz) Bower; grandsons, Aidan Bower (Brittany Fisher), Noah Bower, and Jonah Bower; granddaughter, Everly Bower; and great-granddaughter, Eloise Bower. Also surviving are his parents, Arthur and Dorothy (Schorr) Bower; parents-in-love, Charles and Vivian (Reeder) Welch; brother, Todd Bower (Sherry Tinney), and brother, Kevin Bower (Laura); sister-in-love, Yvette Reneé (Welch) Ross (Steve Souter); sister-in-love, Tamara (Welch) Fry (Kevin); 7 nephews, 4 nieces, and 2 great-nieces. Scot was preceded in death by his son, Jordan Michael Bower, who perished on TWA Flight 800, July 17, 1996. Scot was also preceded in death by his brothers-in-love, Howard Dale Ross, Jr. and Brian Keith Welch.

A Celebration of Life with Time for Remembrances will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at First Church, 604 Market Street, Williamsport, PA. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:45 a.m. A luncheon will follow in the Fellowship Hall/basement level. There is an elevator accessible from Ross Street entrance/Sanctuary level or from the Bennett Street entrance/basement level.
