Kenneth Woods,,Ph.D., 93, of Wayne died Saturday afternoon at his residence.
Born February 13, 1928 in Prescott AZ, he was the son of the late George T. and Vilate (Harper) Woods.
He is survived by his wife, Antoinette (DeMasi) Woods.
He helped establish the New York Blood Center located in Manhattan NY, where he worked as a BioChemist. He and Tom Hopp found the Hopp-Woods profile, which can predict antigenic sites on proteins based on their hydrophilicity. This method can assist in the development of vaccines and is one of the most common techniques used in biotechnology.
Interment has been entrusted to Cremation Specialists of Pennsylvania 728 Main Street Avoca PA 18641.
