Benjamin Atkinson Obituary

Benjamin L. Atkinson, 73, of Montoursville and formerly of Harrisburg, died Saturday August 22, 2020 in the Rose View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness.

He was a retired salesman and was a graduate of John Harris High School, Class of 1965. He loved watching golf, Penn State football and the Steelers.

He was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin T. and Betty Frank Atkinson.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Dibble Atkinson, his daughter Tiffany A. Atkinson of Harrisburg, adopted son Adam Atkinson, step-children Sidney F. Litzelman (Susan), Tamara Pettersson (Lars) and Tonya Chambers, one brother, Bruce Atkinson (Brenda), two sisters, Betty Lou Yanich (Ronald) and Beth A. Beers (Robert, Sr.), his grandchildren Jeffrey M. Sponenberg (Rachel McClain), Kirstin N. Sponenberg (Josh Smith), Sara Litzelman, Lora Rupert (Harris) and Patrick Irvin, his great-grandchildren Hunter Bair, Maya Sponenberg, Hank Rupert, Jr. and Brooke Rupert along with one aunt, Martha Baryzk and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cremation is being handled by Cremation Specialists of PA.

A Celebration of Life will be held by the family on October 3, 2020.
