Thomas Pursel 90 of Mountain Lake NJ passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at St. Luke’s Hospice House, Bethlehem, PA with his loving family by his side. Tom was born and raised in Huntington, NJ and was the son of the late Stanley and Mary (Clause) Pursel.
Tom served as a paratrooper with the 557 Aerial Supply Battalion, serving in Germany during the occupation. He was a youth baseball coach in Greenwich Township NJ during the 1960s and 70s.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn, who passed January 29, 2019.
Surviving are sons, Thomas Pursel and his wife Cindy of Palmer Township, Mark Pursel and companion Maureen of Fredon, NJ and Robert Pursel of Quarryville, PA, Seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings are Betty Purdy and Alvin Pursel of Phillipsburg, NJ and Robert Pursel of Lavallette, NJ.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at St. Luke’s Hospice House for the wonderful care they provided for Tom and all his family.
As per Tom’s request services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Cremation Specialists of Pennsylvania is entrusted with the arrangements.
