Richard George Kors passed away on July 23, 2021 at Bethany Village in Mechanicsburg, PA at age 92 with his daughter by his side. He was born August 3, 1928 in Cedar Lake, IN Richard served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He retired from the American Can Co after more than 30 years of service. He was a master craftsman with many skills that he shared and taught his family and others. Richard made many types of jewelry, loved being a “rock hound” looking for different rocks and gemstones, and enjoyed hand wood carving. He was an accomplished facetor and achieved certification of “Certified Supreme Master Gem Cutter”. He loved to create or repair anything. Richard was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son and brother. He loved spending time with his large family.
He was preceded in death by his father George Kors, his mother Anne (Gunderson) Stadler, his sister Vera (Kors)Corning and his son Richard Gregory Kors. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret (Kennedy) Kors of 71 years; 2 sons, Andrew Kors (and wife Deborah) of Smithfield, VA; John Kors (and wife Whitney) of Missoula, MT; 3 daughters, Rebecca Kline ( and husband David) of Mechanicsburg, PA; Patricia Ballou ( and husband James) of Independence, MO; Alicia Dodier ( and husband Raymond) of Auburn NH; daughter-in-law Suzanne Lacy (and husband James) of Syracuse, NY; his grandchildren Jason Ballou, Patrick Ballou, Krista Gitke, Kimberly Scanga, Jessica Zakrajsek, Tiffany Dodier, Matthew Kors, Andrew Kors JR, April Marks, Bryan Kors, Kevin Kors, Daniel Lacy and Kennedy Kors; many great grandchildren; brother Vernon Kors (and wife Laura); sister Annette Borowski and many nieces and nephews. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetary, Annville, PA.
