Randall Marcellus Gotwalt, Sr., unexpectedly passed away at the age of 78, peacefully, in UPMC Memorial Hospital, York. Born on March 23, 1944, in York, he was the son of Charles Gotwalt, Jr. and Velzetta Naylor.

Randy attended Central Schools, graduated from York High in 1962, and went on to Penn State University, obtaining a degree in Industrial Engineering and eventually becoming a business owner. His home church was Living Word Community Church, and he was a member of the York Lodge #266, Viking AA, Pleasureville Post 799, York Rifle Club, and Brotherhood of Masons.

Randy’s favorite things to do included hunting, fishing, tennis, and golf. One of his favorite memories included being able to sing with “The Inspirations,” and at age twelve he had the opportunity to play with the famous trumpet player, Rafael Mendez. Above all, he loved spending his time with family and friends. He was a father of two and a grandfather of eight!

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-father Robert Naylor.

Surviving is his daughter, Angela & husband Troy Carey, their four children Ariah, Makaylah, Tavarus, and Tiana; his son, Marcellus Gotwalt, II & wife Tavy, along with their four children Chazz, Aaliyah, Zavannah, and Cassius; as well as his sister, Lonna & husband Tim Emig, and their children Mark and Leslie.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 11:00AM in the Living Word Community Church, 2530 Cape Horn Rd, Red Lion, PA 17356. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Living Word Community Church.
