Margaret (Peg) Ann Ward
February 28, 1937 - September 20, 2025

Margaret (Peg) Ann Ward, beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother ("MomMom"), and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20th, at the age of 88.

Born on February 28, 1937, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Peg was the middle child and only daughter of three children born to John and Margaret (Flannigan) McCabe.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 67 years, Mike, and is survived by their three sons: Kevin (wife Kathy Dauber), Michael (wife Georgia Spolsky), and John (wife Sara Davis). Peg was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and a joyful great-grandmother to thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two brothers, John Patrick McCabe (late wife Lois) and Owen McCabe (wife Terri).

Peg and Mike built a beautiful life together in Roslyn, Pennsylvania, before retiring to the Peter Becker Retirement Community in Harleysville, PA. While raising their three sons, Peg served as President of the Guild of St. Mary, actively supporting the school her children attended. She held several roles throughout her life, including serving as Administrative Assistant to the President of Carpenter Technology, retiring at age 60.

After retirement, Peg's enthusiasm for fitness led her to become actively involved with the Indian Valley YMCA, where she attended classes and volunteered-ultimately being named Volunteer of the Year. She also found joy in organizing card games with her friends at Peter Becker.

One of Peg's favorite stories was her experience as an extra in the 1968 film Where Angels Go, Trouble Follows. She delighted in recounting her brief moment on screen-unplugging a lamp-and her time among the stars. But to her family, Peg was the true star. Her favorite role was that of grandmother, and she was "crazy about" her grandchildren, playing an active and loving part in each of their lives.

Peg and Mike shared a deep love of travel, exploring all 50 states, visiting over 100 countries, and enjoying countless cruises together.

Known for her boundless energy, optimism, and deep love of life, Peg was cherished by all who knew her. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

A Memorial Mass in Peg's honor will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Chapel at Peter Becker Retirement Community, 800 Maple Avenue, Harleysville, PA 19438. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, with Mass to follow at 10:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret Ward's memory to the Peter Becker Community Benevolent Fund or Uniteforher.org, an organization supporting breast cancer patients-both causes close to Peg's heart.
