Kevin Patrick Conroy Sr.

Kevin Patrick Conroy, Sr. was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026, at the age of 93 while under the loving care of Arbor Terrace Willistown's staff.

Kevin was born to John and Mary Conroy in Havertown, Pennsylvania, on January 13, 1933. After graduating from West Philadelphia Catholic High School, he proudly served in the United States Navy, an experience that took him around the world. Following his military service, Kevin worked for A. Talone Dry Cleaning and Tailoring in Ardmore, PA, for 31 years until his retirement in 1998. After retiring, Kevin continued to be a familiar and friendly presence in the Marple Newtown community, "saving lives", as he liked to say, as a crossing guard for 17 years.

He was a loving and devoted husband to Margaret Conroy for 58 years, and together they raised their six children in Newtown Square, PA.

Kevin adored his dog, Moe, who made new friends wherever the two of them went. He enjoyed his daily crossword puzzles, reading non-fiction books (especially historical accounts), travel by car, train or cruise ship, and a well-made Old Fashioned. A devoted Philadelphia sports fan, Kevin proudly cheered on the Phillies, Eagles, 76ers, Flyers, and Villanova basketball. He especially loved attending the Army-Navy football game, a tradition he looked forward to each year.

Kevin will be remembered for his spirited nature, his incredibly strong work ethic, his creativity and resourcefulness in household projects, but mostly his love for his family and the joy he found in time spent together. Some of his happiest memories were made with family at the beaches in Ocean City, Maryland, and Nags Head, North Carolina.

He is survived by his six children: Chris Conroy (Melissa) of Glenview, Illinois; Kevin Conroy, Jr. (Debra) of Apex, North Carolina; Tim Conroy (Alisa) of West Chester, Pennsylvania; Ann Bruccoliere (Michael) of Greenville, South Carolina; Mary Bartlett (David) of Downers Grove, Illinois; and John Conroy (Tara) of Arlington Heights, Illinois. He also leaves behind his 17 beloved grandchildren: Caitlyn (Bryan), Erin (Blaise), Kevin, Noah, Brien, Holly, Ryan, Megan, Jack, Theo, Matthew, Charlie, Mary, Johnny, Cameron, Shannon, and Maggie; as well as four cherished great-grandchildren: Bryson, Bernadette, Owen, and Mary Blaise.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Margaret; his brother, Jack; and his sisters, Eileen, Mary, and Nancy.

Kevin will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love. We are grateful for the many years, memories, and moments we shared with him, and we will carry his spirit with us and hold him in our hearts always.

A brief interment service will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, Pennsylvania 18940, on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 1:30PM.
