John R. Peed

John R. Peed, Jr., 74, of Oxford, PA, formerly of West Chester, PA, died peacefully on Monday, November 8, 2021, surrounded by Regina, his loving wife of almost 54 years, and his daughters Jennifer and Leslie Peed.

He is predeceased by his daughter Jean Marie Peed earlier this year, and his brother Thomas Peed. Born in Chester County, PA, he was the son of the late John R. Peed, Sr. and survived by his mother Anna (nee Hunt) Peed. Also left behind to mourn are his siblings William (Kimberly), Carol (Leslie), and Wallace; as well as his many nieces and nephews.

John was a graduate of Henderson High School and Drexel University, where he earned his degree in Civil Engineering. He loved being near the water, and spent many family vacations at the Jersey Shore. Those closest to him knew he had a great love for animals. In recent years, he spent a portion of his semi-retirement doing volunteer work at the Chesapeake Feline Association, where he could often be found cuddling one of the many rescue cats.
