John Owen Colgan

John Owen Colgan, Jr. of Greeley, PA, (formerly of Staten Island, NY) passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021, at Allied Services Hospice Center in Scranton, PA. He was 78 years old. John was a New York City Transit Police officer, where he proudly served until his retirement as Sergeant in 1986. After his retirement, he moved to PA and became the owner of the Mid-Forest Inn in Lords Valley. John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ellen; his daughter, KellyAnn, and her fiancé Lee VanWagenen; daughter-in-law, Maria; granddaughters Elizabeth and Emily Kolankiewicz and grandson Mickey, and; Marianne (Laurence) Pellino. He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Colgan.
Arrangements are being handled by Cremation Specialist of PA. The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.
