Iris E. Edkin, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and to be reunited with her husband, Stacy, on July 26, 2026, in Jersey Shore at the age of 67. Born on October 23, 1958, in Germany, Iris graced the world with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family.
As a dedicated housewife, mother, and grandmother, Iris devoted her life to nurturing and supporting her loved ones. She cherished her role as a grandmother above all else, finding immense joy in the time spent with her grandchildren.
Iris had a deep love for reading and studying the Bible, drawing strength and guidance from its teachings. Her passion and devotion to the teachings of Jesus were bountiful and evident in her daily life. She was also an avid collector of lighthouses and turtles, symbols of guidance and resilience that mirrored her own character. Her love for swimming and the beach provided her with peace and solace, while her fondness for coffee and black licorice were simple pleasures she enjoyed throughout her life.
Iris was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Stacy L. Edkin. She is survived by her children, James (Jacquelyn) Edkin, Joseph (Kelly) Edkin, and Shannon (Kent) Terry. Her memory will be cherished by her grandchildren, Carter Terry, Evan Terry, Kallen Terry, Kyle Terry, Brandon Terry, Leah Edkin, Ian Edkin, Londan Edkin, Oliver Edkin, Eli Edkin, and Emma Edkin. She is also survived by her step-brother Earl (Sheila) Hoover, sisters Claudia (Donnie) Botsford and Jennifer (Phil) French, and step-sister Karen Anngelucci.
In keeping with Iris's wishes, services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cremation Specialist of Pennsylvania in Avoca, PA.
Iris's spirit and love will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered.
