RED LION – Gregory Lee Brenneman, 73 completed his earthly journey on October 8, 2018.  He was the husband of Anita L. (Shaffer) Brenneman, to whom he was married 54 years. Greg was born in Dallastown on October 9, 1944, the son of the late Charles E. and Margie M. (Ruby) Brenneman.

Greg graduated from Dallastown Area High School in 1962; York Junior College with Associate Degree in 1964; University of Tennessee with Bachelors Degree in 1966.  He earned his Associate in Insurance in 1973, Associate in Claims in 1975, Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) 1981, Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) 1984, Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) 1986, Chartered Financial Counselor (ChFC) 1988.

He was Co-Owner/President of the YORCO Agency, Inc. 1978-2006.  Served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves 1977-2004, (active duty) Operation Desert Shield/Storm (9/00-7/01).

Upon retirement Greg became a dedicated volunteer for the Apprise Team of the York County Area Agency on Aging along with serving in other capacities for this agency.

Greg was a gentle, kind, loving husband, father, Papaw, and friend who was so free with quips and laughter.  He had an amazing, diverse ability to accomplish well whatever he put his mind to doing.  He lived an adventurous life while traveling with the U.S. Air Force, hiking out west with dear friends, Cork & Tunnie, flying the friendly skies with family and friends in his Piper Cherokee.  Through his life’s journey he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, tennis, handball, racquetball, exercise of all kinds & was great at do-it-yourself projects.

Greg was a member of various insurance related associations, the Spry/Dallastown Optimist Club, Izaak Walton League, athletic associations, American Legion Post 605 Dallastown.

In addition to his wife, Greg is survived by two daughters, Tanya Delp and husband, David of VT, and Patricia Carper and husband, Shawn of Middletown.  Five grandchildren, Audrey, Bryce, & Carver Delp, Lillian & Vivian Carper.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Joel L. Brenneman.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Bethlehem Stonepile United Methodist Church, 250 Bethlehem Church Rd., Red Lion, PA 17356 with Pastor Thomas Osenbach officiating.  Visitation will be from 10-11:00 AM.

Burial will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association,4250 Crums Mill Rd., Ste.100, Harrisburg, PA 17112 or to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 2080 Linglestown Rd., #104,  Harrisburg, PA 17110.

Cremation Specialist of Pennsylvania will be handling the arrangements.
