Frank E. Mucha, Jr., 82, of Forkston Township, passed away February 27, 2025 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Plains. Twp.

Born on August 22, 1942, in Kingston, he was a son of the late Frank E. Mucha, Sr. and Florence (Stelacone) Mucha.

He was a devoted Catholic member to Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Wyalusing.

Frank was a Union worker from the local 130 Scranton Union from June 17th, 1966 to November 25th, 1998 and a taxidermist. He loved tying flies, trout fishing, hunting, and all his many wonderful dogs over the years.

Those who remember him will often recount the heartwarming story of how he met his wife, JoAnne. It was an unexpected encounter at her parents’ restaurant, Ma’s Diner, late one night when Frank stopped by to change a tire and wash his hands. As JoAnne was closing the store, she casually asked if he would like something to eat, a moment that would make the beginning of their beautiful journey together.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death and is now back with his loving wife of 62 years, JoAnne Mucha and his sister, Arlene Leon.

He is survived by his children, Aurelia Jervis and husband, Jeremy, Lisa Sholes and husband, Christopher and Stan Mucha; grandchildren, Kayla and Adam Billings, Brittney Sholes, Jarrett and David Jervis and his nieces, Heather and Charlene Leon.

Celebration of Life services will be held for Frank and Joanne this summer at a later date, as that was their favorite season.
