Edward Elwood Stephens, mostly known to his friends as Eddie, passed away on June 29th, 2025, in Chambersburg, PA.

He was born on January 12, 1931, to Andrew and Bennie Stephens in Quinlan, TX.
He was the tenth child of ten. As a child he was interested in building model airplanes. Later in life he went on to realize his dream of getting his pilot's license and eventually owning his own plane.

After he graduated from Greenville High School, his brother, Raymond, took him under his wing to teach him the craft of welding. He went on to become a pipeline welder working across the United States. Once he became more home-based, he worked as a welder in Texas. In the 1970s he moved with his family to New Mexico to work as an independent welder in the oil fields mostly in the Four Corners Area. Welding was his career, but he developed a new passion which was working on old cars. The last classic car he owned was an Alpine which he worked on into his eighties.

Eddie is survived by his two daughters, Sherri Maret, and Charla Wood, as well as his son, Jerry Stephens. He also has a grandson, Michael Maret, and granddaughter, Holly Wood. He was so happy to meet and hold his great-granddaughter, Fiona Thompson-Maret.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Bennie Stephens; and his siblings, Eugene Stephens, Dorothy Stephens, Edna 'Clifford' Overby, James 'JD' Stephens, Ellon Stephens, Aubrey 'Steve' Stephens, Raymond Stephens, Marcelle Hise, and Adelle Luhn.
