Christa I. Balz

Christa Irmgard Dotzel Balz, resident of Lafayette, IN passed away peacefully on March 14, 2023, with her family at her side in Carlisle, PA. Christa grew up in Germany during World War II, which gave her incredible strength, resilience, and the ability to find joy and humor in difficult circumstances.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Anna Dotzel, her sister Hannelore Dotzel, and her husband, Erwin Balz. She is survived by her children: Thomas (Bonnie) Gowan, Sharon (Dwayne) Parrish, Christine (Don) Davis, and David Gowan. She also has four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.

Christa loved going to church, surprising her friends and family, flowers and helping those in need.
