Beatrice Catherine (Cathy) Smith, 89, passed away peacefully, as she was surrounded by family, on July 11th, 2024. Cathy was born on November 19th, 1934 in Trumbauersville, PA to Clarence Renninger and Bella Renninger (Wenhold).

Cathy resided in Lehighton, PA with her husband, John R. Smith, for the past 24 years, and they were married for 72 years. She is survived by her husband John and six children and their spouses: Brenda and Lowell Myers; Jack and Eileen Smith; Ronald Smith and Lawrence Sarwono; David and Deena Smith; Kathleen Smith; and Michael and Karen Smith. She lived for and loved cooking for all of her family, including 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Cathy had a great fondness for all of her pets over the years and she struggled with Alzheimer's disease the last few years of her life. So, in lieu of flowers or other kindnesses, please consider contributing to the Alzheimer's Association (https://act.alz.org/donate) and/or the Blue Mountain Animal Rescue Society (www.bmars.org/get-involved) in the name of Beatrice Catherine Smith.

Cathy requested to be cremated and have her ashes buried alongside her parents and her two brothers, Sterling and Raymond. A brief graveside service will be performed at Christ Union Cemetery, which is across the street from the Trumbauersville fire station, located at 142 Allentown Rd., Trumbauersville, PA. The service will be held at 10 AM on August 17th, 2024. Afterward, beginning about 11 AM, there will be a gathering, to celebrate Cathy's life, held at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church (historic Keller's Church) located at 3668 Ridge Rd., Perkasie, PA. All are welcome to attend both the graveside service and the gathering afterward.
