The wife of Richard Wayne Loucks of Dillsburg, PA of 36 years. While living in
southern CA she met her husband and later moved with him to PA in the 90’s.
Known as Ann, she was born in the Netherlands September 21, 1937, the
daughter of Hendricus Jozeph van Duin and Cornelia Jannetje Lindhout. She was
one of 7 children, Brothers: Hans, Renus, Martin (all pre-deceased) and Jos who
resides in the Netherlands with wife, Marja. Sisters: Tinie and Bella (pre-
deceased – Bella passing exactly 1 week after Ann), along with many nieces,
nephews and cousins around the world. Ann emigrated to America June 1962
and became an American Citizen in January 1971. She took tremendous pride in
that.
Before retiring in 2015, Ann worked in CA for many years for Catalina Sportswear
working directly with the designers sewing their prototypes. After moving to PA
she eventually successfully operated her own business, “Ann’s Sew-Fine
Draperies & Slipcovers”, doing exquisite custom-designed creations for her own
retail customers as well as wholesale for noted local interior designers such as
David’s Furniture. Over her lifetime she was a dedicated AVON Rep, winning
many sales awards/trophies. She was an avid bowler, again, winning many
awards/trophies while participating in tournaments all over the country. She
played the accordion and organ. She was always ‘up’ to try anything new, fun and
challenging. She was a member in good standing in her Church, West Shore
Baptist in Camp Hill, PA where she was very active. She sang in the choir, was a
member of “The Wild Women of WSBC” and other activities there as well,
including mission trips to Malawi, Africa. She loved cats. And Ann loved her Lord
and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was not reluctant sharing her Faith. She will always
be remembered by her beautiful smile and out-going personality. She loved
people and could get very animated about politics. She is Home with her Creator.
Her Christian family and friends will see her again “in the morning”.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held Saturday, October 19th at 11 a.m. at West
Shore Baptist Church, 21st & Market, Camp Hill, PA 17011. In lieu of flowers it is
suggested contributions be made in her name to: Alzheimer’s Association of
Greater Pennsylvania Chapter.
